Defense Minister Benny Gantz said that he will take “whatever measures are necessary” to thwart Iran from acquiring more weapons in wake of the expiration of the UN arms embargo against Israel’s archenemy on Sunday despite US objections. “We must be stronger and more determined than ever in light of the expiration of the arms embargo on Iran today,” Gantz stated. “Iran has never been just an Israeli problem but first and foremost a regional and global problem.” “As defense minister, I will continue to take whatever measures necessary, together with our partners, both old and new, to prevent Iranian expansion and armament. All countries should join this important effort.” Today is the day that the global arms embargo on Iran is set to expire.

Israel’s Health Ministry confirmed 1,479 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, reflecting a positivity rate of 3.7%. There are currently 23,347 active virus cases, with 636 seriously ill patients, of whom 233 are ventilated. There were 54 fatalities confirmed on Monday, raising the death toll to 2,268. The coronavirus cabinet is convening on Tuesday evening to decide on the next steps in the second stage in easing the nationwide lockdown following the initial stage which began on Sunday. According to the plan forged by senior health officials, each stage should last about two weeks to ensure that the lockdown exit isn’t overly hasty, driving up infection rates.

Rosh Yeshivas Brisk HaGaon HaRav Meshulam Dovid Halevi Soloveitchik has contracted the coronavirus and is suffering from a lung infection. He is being treated with antibiotics and oxygen assistance at his home in Gush Shemonim in Jerusalem. The Rav has been feeling weak since Sukkos and he developed a lung infection, a hallmark symptom of the coronavirus. He was tested for the coronavirus and the results were negative but a subsequent test showed that he was positive. “The Rosh Yeshivah is at home and being treated with antibiotics and at times with oxygen,” one of the Rav’s relatives told Kikar H’Shabbos. “His condition is stable.

Inspectors from multiple city agencies are once again running around Boro Park, doling out hefty fines to Mosdos, Yeshivas and businesses. The Inspectors were armed with lists of only Jewish institutions and businesses, leaving many to question if this is should be a targeted attack against Jews. A photo of one of the lists was provided to YWN, after a local resident photographed it as it sat inside a city vehicle parked outside a Yeshiva. Notice not one non-Jewish institution is on this list. (Attached below) YWN can confirm through highly credible sources that at least one Yeshiva that is CLOSED had a fine plastered on their building today.

Another historical event for Israel took place when the first public delegation from the United Arab Emirates to visit Israel landed at Ben-Gurion Aiport on Tuesday at noon to finalize agreements between the two countries, a month after the Abraham Accords peace agreement was signed in Washington. The UAE delegation is headed by the UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs, Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, and UAE Minister of Economy Abdulla bin Touq Al Mari. They were joined by U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Middle East envoy Ari Berkowitz, who flew from Bahrain, where a peace agreement was signed with Israel on Sunday, to the UAE.

President Donald Trump on Monday said Sudan will be removed from the U.S. list of state sponsors of terrorism if it follows through on its pledge to pay $335 million to American terror victims and their families, but some hurt in the attacks weren’t happy with the deal. The move would open the door for the African country to get international loans and aid needed to revive its battered economy and rescue the country’s transition to democracy. The announcement, just two weeks ahead of the U.S. presidential election, also comes as the Trump administration works to get other Arab countries, such as Sudan, to join the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain’s recent recognition of Israel.

Quick a Jew! Get the cameras fast everyone! The sheer number of reporters flooding the Jewish community the past few days is simply  sickening and dangerous, as they stand around hoping to catch a Jew without a mask. It has reached a level of disgust. How long before the over aggressive news media intentionally baits a Jewish citizen into a physical altercation? Not to worry, you won’t ever see the scene like in the video below, in a black community in NYC. In Boro Park a while ago, Channel 7 N.J. Burkett was chased out of Boro Park. One resident asked why they never go cover the Bronx where there are many without masks. Not to worry, he was seen in Williamsburg a few minutes later – looking for more Jews to film.

As Israel’s Kosel Hamaaravi re-opened on Sunday following a four-week lockdown, mispallelim began flocking to the site to daven once again at the Makom Hamikdash and recite the special tefillos for Rosh Chodesh Cheshvan. About 1,500 mispallelim were present at the vasikin minyan for Rosh Chodesh on Monday morning, divided into separate capsules. The tefillah was made even more special by the fact that for the first time in years, the provocative members of the Women of the Wall were missing in action, choosing to carry out their monthly “Rosh Chodesh protest” on Zoom. Instead, only Jews who were solely interested in davening were present, lending the tefillah a special peacefulness and achdus.

Israel’s Health Ministry confirmed 892 new coronavirus cases on Monday, showing a 3.5% positivity rate, the lowest infection rate since the end of June. For the first time since September 8, the number of active virus cases has fallen below 30,000, standing at 29,617, with the number of seriously ill patients dropping to 619, of whom 212 are ventilated. The death toll has risen to 2,209. Coronavirus czar Ronni Gamzu said on Monday that identifying asymptomatic coronavirus carriers is the key to halting the pandemic by stopping the chain of infection and he would test every Israeli in the country if feasible. Slovakian Prime Minister Igor Matovic apparently has the same opinion as Gamzu as he announced plans over the weekend to test all Slovakian residents aged 10 years and over.

YWN has been inundated with reports of inspectors flooding the Flatbush and Boro Park “red zones” on Monday. By 11:30AM, inspectors from the NYC Department of Buildings had already visited nearly two dozen Mosdos Hatorah. Initial reports state that inspectors are asking to enter the buildings, and if denied, they are given a summons for a court appearance in a few months along with a $15,000 fine. Highly credible sources tell YWN that the inspectors were provided a list from the State that has the names and addresses of every single Yeshiva, and were hoping to visit each one today. YWN had no information if any Yeshivas were even open.
