The comments on the recording, made in July 2021 at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, would seem to undercut the former president’s repeated claims that he declassified the documents he took with him from the White House to Mar-a-Lago, his Florida estate, after leaving office.

The Israeli man who drowned to death in Italy’s Lake Maggiore on Sunday in a boat accident was named as former Mossad official Erez Shimoni, z’l, on Wednesday. In recent years, he only used the shofros belonging to HaRav Tzvi and two of the shofros were on loan at HaRav Edelstein’s home. Less than two hours after the petirah, HaRav Tzvi received a phone from the Rosh Yeshivah’s family members inquiring about his whereabouts and informing him that his shofros would be immediately delivered to him.
