It looks like a high-tech version of the nicotine patch, but Theranica Bio-Electronics’ wearable device has a different purpose: to knock out migraines … at least temporarily.
Inside Theranica’s Neriva Migra patch are tiny electrodes that deliver a small electrical jolt to your body to mitigate headache and other acute pain through what’s known as CPM (conditioned pain modulation).
CPM is a counterintuitive approach to pain management. The idea is that by introducing a secondary noxious stimulus (the electrical zaps from the patch), perception of the primary noxious stimulus—in Theranica’s case, migraines—can be reduced.

Israeli archaeologists and microbiologists together with a team of beer brewers have successfully resurrected a 2,000 year-old beer recipe by reviving yeast residue found in ancient beer pots, in an effort to shed light on how people lived back then.
By isolating six yeast strains from 21 sherds of beer or wine vessels found in four different excavation sites in Israel, the expert team were able to revitalize the ancient brew, a basic commodity consumed by people of all statuses.

The United States said Tuesday it suspected that Syrian government forces have carried out a fresh chemical attack and has threatened reprisals, according to the State Department.
The State Department said it was assessing indications that the regime used chemical weapons on Sunday during its offensive in jihadist-dominated Idlib, the most significant remaining holdout of jihadist rebels in Syria.
“Unfortunately, we continue to see signs that the Assad regime may be renewing its use of chemical weapons, including an alleged chlorine attack in northwest Syria on the morning of May 19,” State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus said in a statement.

Over the weekend, former vice president Joe Biden asked a crowd of supporters at a campaign rally whether the United States is a nation that embraces “dictators and tyrants like Putin and Kim Jong Un.” The crowd roared “No!” as Biden responded: “We don’t! But [President Donald] Trump does.”
That didn’t go over so well in Pyongyang, where North Korea’s state-run news agency responded this week by calling Biden “a fool of low IQ.”
“What he uttered is just sophism of an imbecile bereft of elementary quality as a human being, let alone a politician,” the news agency said, according to the AP.
The insult could have been worse.
