The Department of Justice has opened 170 subject files – meaning individuals identified as persons who potentially committed crimes – on rioters from the Capitol, Acting DC US Attorney Michael Sherwin said at a news conference today. Federal prosecutors are looking at bringing “significant” cases involving possible sedition and conspiracy charges in last week’s riot at the U.S. Capitol.

President Trump brushed aside calls for his removal over last week’s attack at the Capitol, saying the 25th Amendment is “of zero risk to me, but will come back to haunt Joe Biden.” “Be careful what you wish for,” Mr. Trump said in Alamo, Texas, during a visit to the border. He said the impeachment effort mounted by House Democrats is “dangerous for the USA, especially at this very tender time.” “Free speech is under assault like never before,” Trump said.

President Trump railed against impeachment as a continued “witch hunt” and called for “no violence” in his first public remarks to reporters after the insurrection he incited at the US Capitol last week. One day before House lawmakers are expected to vote to impeach him for the second time, Trump called the process “dangerous” and said it is causing “tremendous anger.” “On the impeachment, it’s really a continuation of the greatest witch hunt in the history of politics. It’s ridiculous, it’s absolutely ridiculous. This impeachment is causing tremendous anger, and you’re doing it and it’s really a terrible thing that they’re doing,” he told reporters on the White House South Lawn Tuesday morning.

The FBI was in Flatbush on Tuesday morning, as they arrested a suspect in the U.S. Capitol riots last week. Video footage shows FBI Agents carrying out what appears to be a costume that the suspect was allegedly wearing during the violent riot. Numerous people have so far been arrested, and sources tell YWN that the FBI plans on making many additional arrests. The NYPD assisted the FBI in the Tuesday morning arrest. An elderly Palestinian man was arrested in the village of Deir Jarir near Ramallah on Sunday morning on charges of rioting against IDF forces, Palestinian media reported. Despite his age, the man, lauded by Palestinian media outlets as a hero, joined rioters decades younger than him in hurling rocks at IDF forces. He was also videoed fighting with a local Jewish resident. Some media outlets dubbed him “The Sheikh of the Mountain.”

NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea on Monday said that an IAB investigation is underway into an allegation that a member of the NYPD was at the fatal riots at the US Capitol last week. “I can tell you that there is one investigation that is active on one member,” Shea said on NY1 Monday morning. “There is no name yet released because we don’t know yet if it’s true or not, but I can tell you that anyone committing crimes certainly would have a very short shelf life with the NYPD.” (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

As you may have already seen, the world of social media has recently gone up in flames. Twitter has shut down Donald Trump’s account, Apple banned ‘Parler’, the conservative social media platform, from their app store, and WhatsApp is forcing users to adhere to obscure terms and conditions. So, does this mean all the popular social media platforms will now censor all of our content? It is scary to see how Twitter is handling the situation. Even Apple. But we’re going to focus on how what’s currently going on with WhatsApp is extremely different. With WhatsApp’s new “terms and conditions” many WhatsApp users understandably assumed that this meant WhatsApp had finally crossed a line, requiring data-sharing with no alternative.

Thirty years after the Gulf War, the IDF released material from its war archive, including videos of Israeli sites where missiles struck and photos of Israelis families in their “safe rooms.” The IDF also released documents on the war, including an operational log that recorded how many Patriot missiles were fired by Israel in response to Scud missiles fired by Iraq and how many Israelis unnecessarily injected themselves with atropine, used to treat nerve agent poisoning, in fear of Iraq’s threats of chemical warfare. In the course of the war, from January 17 to February 25, 1991, 38 Iraqi Scud missiles were launched into Israel, mainly hitting the Tel Aviv area and Haifa.

Republican Sen. Pat Toomey said Sunday that President Trump should resign from office and could face “criminal liability” after the deadly insurrection at the US Capitol, becoming the second Republican senator to call for the President’s resignation. “I think at this point, with just a few days left, it’s the best path forward, the best way to get this person in the rearview mirror for us that could happen immediately,” the Pennsylvania Republican told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union.” “I’m not optimistic it will. But I think that would be the best way forward.” JOIN THE TENS OF THOUSANDS WHO ALREADY ARE ALERTED OF BREAKING NEWS LIKE THIS IN LIVE TIME: YWN WHATSAPP STATUS UPDATES: CLICK HERE to join the YWN WhatsApp Status.

Former Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, a former U.S. Attorney and Trump ally turned on the President on Sunday and said he believed the President’s actions before supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol last week amounted to an “impeachable offense.” Christie told ABC that Republicans in Congress would have to “vote their conscience” if an impeachment article is brought forward and “look at what happened.” “What we had was an incitement to riot at the United States Capitol. We have people killed, and to me there’s not a whole lot of question here,” said Christie. “I think if inciting to insurrection isn’t [an impeachable offense], I don’t really know what it is,” he said.
