NYC Mayor Deblasio is a total failure and a pathetic joke. He has allowed the city to descended into total chaos. Half of the most expensive Manhattan storefronts are boarded up with plywood. The looters were released from jail in 3 hours with zero bail thanks to Albany’s wonderful “bail reform” laws. We have NYPD heroes being shot, stabbed, beaten to a pulp, run over by vehicles. He singled out the entire Jewish community with a tweet sent to his millions of followers over social distancing, but wouldn’t dare do the same to the other communities – specifically those rioting. His Sheriff Department is running around Boro Park and Williamsburg handing out summonses to businesses that are opened in defiance of the Governor’s Executive Order.

Thanks to great police work and a fast NYPD response, at least 5 suspects are in custody in connection to a shots fired incident, which had the entire community in lockdown. Sources tell YWN that at around 12:00PM, suspects fired 2 shots next to the 101 Precinct on Mott Ave and Cornega Ave. They quickly fled on foot, the main suspect still armed with a gun. Although it has not been confirmed, an NYPD source tells YWN that the suspect may have been aiming at officers at the Precinct. Heavily armed NYPD Swat teams searched the backyards, and were assisted by the NYPD Aviation Unit and K-9 Units. By 2:00PM, five suspects were in custody, and a weapon had been recovered. One additional suspect was still missing. Far Rockaway Shomrim (RNSP) are on the scene assisting the NYPD.

The drive-through testing stations that Magen David Adom established during the coronavirus crisis caught the eye of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with officials deciding to set up similar stations in the African country. Dan Gertler, Honorary Consul in Israel for the Congo, contacted MDA and asked for assistance in establishing the unique facilities in the Congo. MDA readily agreed to be of assistance and developed specific software for managing a drive-through testing station in the Congo and also developed a training program with videos and written instructions for the medical staff there.

Netanel Engel, a man who volunteers with the police and Magen David Adom was seen throwing to the ground and kicking a Rabbi in Petach Tikvah. The video which was posted to Twitter by a number of people and media outlets, shows Engel, carrying a gun, and attacking Rabbi Dovid Pick (65). Pick is the Rosh Kollel of Avi Ezri, a Kollel on Arlozorov Street in Petach Tikvah. Following the altercation, a number of avreichim arrive and separate Engel from Rabbi Pick.

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) successfully tested its new LORA ballistic missile capable of hitting an unprecedented 400 km (249 miles) target range, IAI stated on Tuesday. The operational dual firing trial of the LORA (Long-Range Artillery) Weapon System was carried out on a ship in the Mediterranean Sea last month. “We have successfully tested the LORA weapons system’s various strategic capabilities, both short-range of 90km (56 miles) and long-range of 400km (249 miles),” IAI stated. “Under both scenarios, the missile was launched to its trajectory, navigated its course to the target, and hit it with utmost precision.” The LORA, a container-based missile, can be stored on a commercial ship without being detected and can launch up to 16 missiles.

The three other officers on the scene when a member of the Minneapolis police force pressed his knee on George Floyd’s neck are being charged with aiding and abetting a murder, and the murder case against the main officer is being upgraded to second-degree, a newspaper reported Wednesday. The Star Tribune, citing multiple unnamed law enforcement sources, said Derek Chauvin would face the more serious charge in the death of George Floyd, who was handcuffed on the ground. Three other officers at the scene — Thomas Lane, J. Kueng and Tou Thao — were charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder, the newspaper reported, again citing sources who spoke on condition of anonymity. All four of the officers had already been fired.

A Williamsburg man made a Kiddush Hashem on Wednesday, by handing out water at a Black Lives matter protest on Bedford Avenue. Around 1,000 protesters marched peacefully down Bedford Avenue – through the heart of the Williamsburg Hasidic Community. One man, R’ Moshe Yosef Friedman stood in the street and handed out water to a few dozen NYPD Officers. He then handed out around 200 bottles of water to the protesters – all of whom were protesting in an orderly and civilized way. One of the NYPD Sergeants turned to a group of Hasidic men and said “We know the Jewish Community has a good heart!” (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo apologized privately to top New York City Police administrators late Tuesday after earlier in the day ripping their response to rioters as a “disgrace.” The NYPD Chief Terence Monahan told NBC’s Today show Wednesday that Cuomo’s office called him, and the governor called commissioner Dermot Shea to apologize and clarify his remarks. “You’d have to come out and see what these men and women are doing, don’t ever call them ineffective,” Monahan said during the interview. “As a matter of fact, last night his office called and apologized to me. I know he called the commissioner directly to apologize that that is not what he meant – that he did not mean to put down the police officers.” (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

Defense Secretary Mark Esper said Wednesday he opposes use of the Insurrection Act, which would allow President Donald Trump to use active-duty military forces for law enforcement duties in containing street protests. Speaking to reporters at the Pentagon, Esper said active-duty troops in a law enforcement role should be used in the United States “only in the most urgent and dire of situations,” adding, “We are not in one of those situations now.” Use of the Insurrection Act has been discussed as Trump has talked about using the military to quell violent protests in U.S. cities. Esper has authorized the movement of several active-duty Army units to military bases just outside the nation’s capital, but they have not been called to action.
