Israeli forces in Gaza killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, the chief architect of last year’s attack on Israel that sparked the war, the IDF said Thursday. Troops appeared to have run across him unknowingly in a battle, only to discover afterwards that a body in the rubble was Israel’s most-wanted man. Israeli leaders celebrated his killing as a settling of scores just over a year after Hamas-led terrorists killed some 1,200 people in Israel and kidnapped 250 others. They also presented it as a turning point in the campaign to destroy Hamas, urging the group to surrender and release some 100 hostages still in Gaza. “Hamas will no longer rule Gaza. This is the start of the day after Hamas,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said.

CBS News is once again under fire after House Speaker Mike Johnson accused the network of selectively editing portions of his interview on Face the Nation, which aired over the weekend. Johnson took to social media on Monday night, sharing three video segments on X that revealed how CBS cut out key parts of his responses, including criticisms of the Biden-Harris administration. In a series of posts, Johnson highlighted the network’s decision to remove five minutes from his nearly 15-minute interview, which he claimed were crucial to his points on election integrity and disaster response. “CBS has been under fire for selectively editing their interviews to PROMOTE Democrats and UNDERMINE Republicans,” Johnson wrote in one of his posts.

Vice President Kamala Harris managed to raise eyebrows again on Monday, this time by reaching for the stars—literally—when attempting to answer a question about crime. During an interview with Roland Martin on Black Star Network, Harris took a detour into astronomy when asked about Donald Trump’s focus on crime in Democrat-run cities. “I talked with somebody once who said, ‘You know, if you just look at where the stars are in the sky. Don’t look at them as just random things; if you just look at them as points, look at the constellation—what does it show you?’” Harris rambled. “So you just outlined it, Roland, what does it show you? That the cities that he picks on in terms of Black population or Black mayor or both. C’mon.” Naturally, the internet pounced.

An armed man arrested at former President Donald Trump’s rally in Coachella, California, over the weekend is not being seen as a threat to the former president’s life, according to reports from the Trump campaign and Fox News. The man, identified as 49-year-old Vem Miller from Las Vegas, was arrested by local authorities for possessing a shotgun, a loaded handgun, and a high-capacity magazine. Miller, who later posted bail, told Fox News Digital that he is a longtime Trump supporter and attended the rally at the invitation of the Nevada Republican Party. “Yes, I’m 100% a Trump supporter,” Miller said. He explained that his political views shifted in 2018 and that he has admired Trump ever since.

In what can only be described as an unintended marathon for political journalists, former President Donald Trump inadvertently extended the 2024 campaign by two months—at least, in his own timeline—during a speech Monday night in Oaks, Pennsylvania. Addressing the crowd, Trump couldn’t resist boasting about his reported gains among Black and Hispanic voters. “Our poll numbers have gone through the roof with Black and Hispanic—have gone through the roof,” Trump declared with characteristic flair. “And I like that. I like that. I like that,” he added, basking in the cheers of his supporters. But then, in classic Trump fashion, things took a turn. Urging his audience to vote, Trump decided to rewrite the calendar.

An elderly Jewish man became the target of a brutal attack in Boro Park after being pepper sprayed while exiting a sukkah on 50th Street near New Utrecht Avenue. The man had just stepped out of the sukkah, intending to head to his car, when a Middle Eastern man approached him without warning and unleashed a stream of pepper spray. The victim was left in agony, his eyes swelling rapidly from the effects of the attack. Within moments, Boro Park Hatzolah arrived at the scene, swiftly transporting the elderly man to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment. As chaos unfolded, Boro Park Shomrim sprang into action. They quickly reviewed surveillance footage from the area and managed to identify not only the make and model of the suspect’s car but also captured a clear image of the perpetrator.

Last week, the IDF called on residents of northern Gaza to evacuate their homes for their safety ahead of an IDF operation in the Jabaliya area. However, per their usual cruel ways of using civilians as human shields, Hamas terrorists are preventing civilians from heeding IDF directives. Members of the IDF’s Unit 504 (human intelligence) received phone calls from Gazan civilians who reported that Hamas terrorists are beating them and preventing them from evacuating to the humanitarian zone. Listen to one of the conversations below:   (YWN Israel Desk – Jerusalem)

The IDF has ramped up targeted operations against terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanon and the Gaza Strip. Leveraging precise intelligence, IDF soldiers are conducting localized raids to dismantle Hezbollah terror targets in southern Lebanon, resulting in the elimination of dozens of militants through close-quarters combat and aerial strikes. The Israel Air Force (IAF) has also targeted approximately 200 Hezbollah positions, including rocket launchers, anti-tank missile posts, and weapons storage facilities housing rockets, anti-tank missiles, RPGs, and other munitions. At the same time, IDF troops are continuing operational activity throughout the Gaza Strip, focused on dismantling terrorist infrastructure.

The IDF has announced that they have killed of Muhammad Kamel Naim, the head of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan force’s anti-tank missile unit, in a targeted airstrike in Nabatiyeh, southern Lebanon. According to the IDF, Naim was responsible for directing anti-tank missile fire into Israel. The IDF released footage of the strike that eliminated Naim. The attack comes in response to a barrage of rockets fired by Hezbollah into northern and central Israel earlier in the day. While some rockets were intercepted by Israel’s missile defense systems, others landed in open areas, causing no reported injuries. Following the rocket fire, the IAF retaliated by targeting the rocket launchers used in the attack. (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

The IDF confirmed that after alarms went off in Tel Aviv and over 180 communities across central Israel, three rockets were detected entering Israeli territory from Lebanon. All rockets were successfully intercepted by Israel’s defense systems, and no injuries were reported, according to Magen David Adom. In retaliation, Israeli Air Force jets targeted and struck the rocket launcher responsible for the attack. Residents across central Israel, including in Tel Aviv, took cover in shelters as alarms echoed throughout the region. (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)
