Police threaten to arrest members of al-Qaws and calls on public to inform on them; human rights watchdog accuses PA of inciting violence against community

Following last week’s fiasco surrounding a Moti Steinmetz concert in Afula, which met opposition from women’s rights groups opposing separate seating, leading to the intervention of courts, attorney Itamar Ben-Gvir has sent a letter to Deputy Attorney General Dina Zilber on the same matter.

Democratic Reps. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota posted a cartoon depicting President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu silencing them. The artist of the cartoon has been accused of anti-Semitism in his previous work.
The cartoon, drawn by Carlos Latuff, depicts Netanyahu holding his hand over Tlaib’s mouth as Trump holds his hand over Omar’s. Both of them are shushing the congresswomen at the same time.
Back in 2006, Latuff finished second in the International Holocaust Cartoon Contest, which was run by the Iranian newspaper Hamshahri.

Iran appears to be preparing another satellite launch after twice failing this year to put one in orbit, despite U.S. accusations that the Islamic Republic’s program helps it develop ballistic missiles.
Satellite images of the Imam Khomeini Space Center in Iran’s Semnan province this month show increased activity at the site, as heightened tensions persist between Washington and Tehran over its collapsing nuclear deal with world powers.
While Iran routinely only announces such launches after the fact, that activity coupled with an official saying a satellite would soon be handed over to the country’s Defense Ministry suggests the attempt will be coming soon.

A suspect taken into custody in relation to the abandoned rice cookers that caused a bomb scare in New York City has been charged, police said.
The 26-year-old has been charged with three counts of placing a false bomb for the scare that caused havoc on the New York City subway system during the Friday morning commute.
The bomb scare was set off Friday when a subway passenger approached two NYPD counterterrorism officers to alert them about suspicious packages at the Fulton Street subway station in lower Manhattan. The items turned out to be rice cookers.
