What began as a peaceful shabbos day in the park turned to tragedy, when 11-year-old Nachman Levi fell the height of four stories directly onto his abdomen. A crowd gathered after hearing screams and the sickly crack of his bones breaking upon impact. The boy was rushed to Shaarei Tzedek hospital where he was in a medically induced coma for a week. His mother was by his side when he opened his eyes, and the Levi family breathed a sigh of relief. Their journey, however, is far from over. Nachman requires several life-saving treatments and surgeries to survive.  Notably, this is not the Levi family’s first brush with tragedy. Levi’s mother was injured severely in a terror attack several years ago, and her health issues have already made it difficult for her to support her 10 children. With Levi in the hospital, their financial situation has become so severe that according to a letter from rabbis Rav Chaim Kanievsky, Rav Dovid Twersky, Rav Chaim Feinstein, and Rav Naftali Nussbaum, they are literally without food to eat. “Someone who saves one life,” says their public statement, “it is as if he has saved the entire world.” There is now not only one life hanging in the balance, but an entire family’s. Donations are being collected via their Chesed Fund page to help save Levi’s life, as well as paying basics such as rent, clothing, and groceries for the large family while the 11-year-old parents are overwhelmed with overseeing his treatment.  CLICK HERE TO HELP CLICK HERE TO SEE THE FULL CAMPAIGN
