Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was interviewed by David Muir on ABC News on Monday and responded to questions about a ceasefire by saying that that would be a “victory for Hamas, like the US having a ceasefire with Al-Queda after the 9/11 attacks.” When asked if he knew where the hostages are being held in Gaza, Netanyahu responded, “We have some intelligence but I’m not sure it would be wise to share it here with Hamas.” Netanyahu reiterated his assertion that “there will be no ceasefire without the return of hostages.” Muir also asked Netanyahu about Israel’s post-war plans for Gaza, saying: “President Biden said it would be a mistake for Israel to occupy Gaza. Who should govern Gaza when this is over?” “Those who don’t want to continue the way of Hamas,” Netanyahu responded. “I think Israel – for an indefinite period – will have the overall security responsibility because we’ve seen what happens when we don’t have it – the eruption of Hamas terror on a scale we couldn’t imagine.” (YWN Israel Desk – Jerusalem)
