U.S. Vice President JD Vance said that he’s joining his wife on a Friday trip to Greenland, suggesting in an online video that global security is at stake. “We’re going to check out how things are going there,” Vance said in a video shared Tuesday. “Speaking for President Trump, we want to reinvigorate the security of the people of Greenland because we think it’s important to protecting the security of the entire world.” U.S. President Donald Trump irked much of Europe by suggesting that his country should in some form control the self-governing, mineral-rich territory of American ally Denmark.

The Aleph Institute’s education initiative, Project 432, recently delivered its Compass Workshop to 150 students at Yeshiva Darchei Torah. The workshop is a groundbreaking initiative designed to teach teenagers and young adults the principles of financial integrity through the lens of Torah and halacha. Since its inception two years ago, the workshop has reached over 2,560 students at 58 high schools and yeshivas in North America and Israel. As part of efforts to equip their talmidim with the tools to lead a life of yashrus, the yeshiva partnered with Project 432 to guide students in navigating financial challenges through Torah-based principles.

MK Ahmad Tibi (Ta’al) stirred controversy in the Knesset after a photo emerged showing him using official Knesset utensils, which are reserved for kosher use, to eat non-kosher food during a pre-dawn Ramadan meal. In his defense, Tibi quoted the Shulchan Aruch to justify his actions.
Amid the backlash, Tibi shared a pointedly sarcastic social media post referencing halachic rulings. “When the food was cold – it does not cause the utensil to be prohibited,” he wrote. He then cited Shulchan Aruch Yoreh De’ah: “Cold – it does not cause and does not absorb.” He ended the post with the tongue-in-cheek sign-off: “Rabbis supporting Tibi.”

The United States said Tuesday that it had reached a tentative agreement for Ukraine and Russia to stop fighting and ensure safe navigation in the Black Sea in separate talks with both sides, but many details were unresolved, and the Kremlin made the deal conditional on lifting some Western sanctions. The announcement was made as the U.S. wrapped up three days of talks with Ukrainian and Russian delegations in Saudi Arabia on prospective steps toward a limited ceasefire. While a comprehensive peace deal still looked distant, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy praised the talks as the early “right steps” toward a peaceful settlement of the 3-year-old war.

The Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah met last Thursday to discuss the issue of voting in the ongoing World Zionist Organization elections. On Tuesday, they issued the following Kol Korei: The Zionist Movement was founded 125 years ago with the purpose of uprooting the foundations of Judaism and redefining the Jewish people from “a kingdom of servants of Hashem and a holy people” into a nation like all nations who are defined by a common language, culture and land. Since, in the words of Rav Saadiah Gaon, “our nation is a nation by virtue of its Torah,” the gedolim of that time did battle with this movement and ruled that anyone who considers himself a Jew may not support it in any manner whatsoever.

Avi Ochana, whose son Yosef-Chaim appeared in a Hamas-released video yesterday, described the emotional moment he learned about the footage.
“I was in the middle of praying and the phone started to ring, both from the army and from my family. It made me nervous, but I decided to finish my prayers,” he recounted in a conversation with Radio Kol Chai.
Ochana expressed the pain of not having seen his son in nearly six months. “We haven’t seen Yosef-Haim since October 7th,” he said. “We knew he was alive because Ohad Ben Ami, who was released in November, was with him and Elkana Bohbot in the same tunnel.”

[Full kol koreh below.] Moments ago, the Moetzes Gedolei Hatorah of America issued a kol koreh prohibiting participation in the upcoming elections for the World Zionist Organization (WZO). The statement, issued in Hebrew and English, emphasizes the importance of adhering to Torah principles and distancing oneself from any movements that undermine Judaism.

The Palestinian Authority’s General Intelligence Service has disbursed financial support to the relatives of individuals involved in terror attacks, according to a Tuesday report from the Palestinian News & Information Agency, Wafa.
The aid was directed to twenty-eight families of deceased terrorists and ten families of incarcerated security offenders, following directives issued by Maj. Gen. Majed Faraj, who leads the General Intelligence Service.
The funds were funneled through the Palestinian National Institute for Economic Empowerment. Officials indicated that subsequent disbursements will depend on the families’ social circumstances, a measure seemingly designed to shield the payments from potential deductions by Israel or penalties from international bodies.

March 7–9, 2025 – It was a weekend that people will be talking about for a long time. Over 800 strong came together from around the country for the 2025 Project Inspire Convention, and what they experienced was more than just inspiration — it was a powerful push to get involved. With the theme “Unlock the Inspired YOU,” the convention reminded everyone that we all have something to give. It encouraged each person not only to grow in their own Yiddishkeit, but to take the next step: to raise their hand and join the mission. The goal wasn’t just about reaching out to less affiliated Jews — it was about getting involved in the many initiatives Project Inspire has built to make that outreach possible.

A Letter to the Lakewood Community: Yesterday, I visited Judaica Plaza, and as I was leaving, I noticed a minivan with two young children inside. The doors and windows were closed, the ignition was off, and the oldest child appeared to be no older than four years old. There was no adult present with them. Initially, I felt uncertain about what to do. On one hand, I was reminded of the tragedy from last week, where a child tragically lost their life after being left in a car. On the other hand, the children seemed mobile and capable of opening the door themselves. I didn’t see the parent or guardian and wasn’t sure which store they had entered.

The Trump administration can stop approving new refugees for entry into the U.S. but has to allow in people who were conditionally accepted before the president suspended the nation’s refugee admissions system, an appeals court ruled Tuesday. The order narrowed a ruling from a federal judge in Seattle who found the program should be restarted. The three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said the president has the power to restrict people from entering the country, pointing to a 2018 Supreme Court ruling upholding President Donald Trump’s ban on travel from several mostly Muslim countries during his first term.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday downplayed the texting of sensitive plans for a military strike against Yemen’s Houthis this month to a group chat that included a journalist, saying it was “the only glitch in two months” of his administration as Democratic lawmakers heaped criticism on the administration for handling highly sensitive information carelessly. Trump told NBC News that the lapse “turned out not to be a serious one,” and articulated his continued support for national security adviser Mike Waltz, who mistakenly added the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, Jeffrey Goldberg, to the chain that included 18 senior administration officials discussing planning for the strike. “Michael Waltz has learned a lesson, and he’s a good man,” Trump said in the NBC interview.
