Tom Homan, the U.S. Border Patrol’s “border czar,” met with the Rochester police union on Friday to express his full backing after local officers were criticized by the city’s “sanctuary” policies for assisting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents during a traffic stop.
Following the meeting, Homan tweeted his support: “I stand with the officers of the Rochester, New York Police Department that answered the emergency assistance call from the U.S Border Patrol.”
He continued, “That is the way it should be. Law enforcement officers should not be abandoned in the time of need because of politics.”
Homan added that “Sanctuary policies endanger our police and the public. … Help is coming!”

Israel’s Foreign Ministry issued a sharp rebuke of Turkey yesterday following Ankara’s condemnation of Israeli military operations targeting Hezbollah positions in Lebanon.
