Palestinian terrorists overnight Tuesday shot and lightly wounded an Israeli bus driver bringing Jewish visitors to Kever Yosef in Shechem in Shomron, according to Hebrew-language media.
The gunmen reportedly opened fire on the bus as the driver was leaving the area after dropping off some two dozen pilgrims.
The Israel Defense Forces dispatched troops to extract the driver and the pilgrims, who did not coordinate the trip in advance with the military.
Prior to Hamas’s Oct. 7, 2023, massacre, Orthodox Jews regularly visited Kever Yosef under IDF protection, with clashes often breaking out during the visits.

Zvi Zussman, whose son Ben tragically lost his life during the conflict in Gaza, recently shared his thoughts with Arutz Sheva about his son’s legacy and the initiative he has launched aimed at helping secure the release of hostages from Gaza.
Zussman reflected on his son, saying, “Ben was our oldest. He was 22 years old when he was killed in Gaza. Ben dedicated a lot of his life to things that were very important for him, such as table tennis and Arabic which he studied on his own. Ben was a special child; he had amazing communication with us and we shared many thoughts and conversations with him through the whole army service. He was a good friend to many people and had made many, many good friends throughout the years.”

Using his “one of a kind” personal menorah, which is made from “shrapnel of rockets that were shot down by the IDF and then smelted together by an Israeli artisan” reminds House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) of the “true meaning of Chanukah.”

Thousands followed the aron of the Rosh Yeshiva, Hagaon Rav Asher Deutsch zt”l, Rosh Yeshiva of Ponevezh and leader of the Peleg Yerushalmi.
According to his tzavaah, the aron was brought only to the courtyard of the yeshiva, not inside the bais medrash. Tehillim was recited with intense fervor by the Mashgiach of Ponevezh Yeshiva, Rav Eliyahu Eliezer Dessler. As per Rav Deutsch’s wishes, no hespeidim were delivered.
Afterward, the aron proceeded to the cemetery, with gedolei hador at the head of the procession, including Rav Meir Zvi Bergman, Rav Dov Landau, and Rav Moshe Hillel Hirsch.

A highly anticipated concert in London featuring singer Bentzion Hakohein “Benny” Friedman is facing an unexpected setback. Matzav.com has learned that the venue originally secured for the show, the Clapham Grand, canceled the event just one day after tickets were made available for sale.
The concert, part of the Am Yisrael Chai Tour organized in partnership with ACM Events, has been months in the making, with the tour spreading a message of Jewish pride to audiences around the world. London, a city that has been consistently requesting Benny’s performances for several years, was selected for two shows—one in London on January 6 and another in Manchester on January 7.

Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan district attorney, announced recently that Perin Jacobchuk, 34, has been sentenced to three-and-a-half years in federal prison for assaulting a 64-year-old Jewish man and, concurrently, one-and-a-third to four years in federal prison for attacking a 63-year-old Asian woman.
“Perin Jacobchuk will serve state prison time for committing two, separate, brutal attacks fueled by his prejudices and biases,” Bragg stated. “These hate crimes left both New Yorkers with physical injuries, which they have thankfully fully recovered from. I hope that the resolution of this case can offer the victims comfort in knowing that Jacobchuk has been held accountable.”

The Chief Rabbinate of Israel on Monday called on the public to pray for rain, in the first joint ruling issued since Rav Kalman Ber and Rav Dovid Yosef were voted in as the country’s Ashkenazi and Sephardi chief rabbis, respectively.
“We are in the midst of the month of Kislev and have not yet received the rains of blessing,” the rabbis wrote. “The people in the fields and crops of the land are desperate for water and, unfortunately, there is none.”
“We call on the public in every location to pray and beg Him who blesses the years to have mercy on His people and His land and answer us and rain down upon us dew and rain for blessing,” added Rav Ber and Rav Yosef.
