Rav Aaron Schustal will deliver his first shiur klali today at Bais Medrash Govoah in Lakewood, NJ.
This shiur klali marks the third instance of the next generation of yeshiva leadership, specifically the sons or sons-in-law of the current roshei yeshiva, delivering such a shiur. The first two were when Rav Aharon Olshin delivered a shiur klali last zeman and when Rav Yehoshua Abba Busel delivered a shiur klali a couple of weeks ago.
The shiur klali is scheduled to take place at 12:45 p.m. at the yeshiva’s Bais Shalom Bais Medrash on the topic of Shofar Hagazul.

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rabbi Yakov Kopel Brailofsky z”l at the age of 91.
Born in 1935 to Reb Moshe and Miriam Brailofsky, Rabbi Brailofsky was raised in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where his dedication to Torah and avodas Hashem was evident from an early age.
A talmid of Bais Medrash Govoah in Lakewood, he had the zechus to learn under Rav Aharon Kotler zt”l. Over the years, Rabbi Brailofsky developed a deep connection with prominent gedolei Torah v’chassidus, including the previous Skverer Rebbe and the Rachmastrivka Rebbe of Boro Park.

An atzeres tefillah was held today in Lakewood, NJ in light of the giyus situation in Eretz Yisroel.
Roshei yeshiva and rabbonim had issued a call for people to attend the rally today, held in the heart of Lakewood, due, according to a statement prior to the event, to the “impending implementation of new Israeli draft laws that threaten to force thousands of bnei Torah into the military, posing an unprecedented threat to limud haTorah in Eretz Yisroel – the very lifeblood of the Jewish nation.”

The Israeli Chief Rabbinate has officially announced that the next Sephardic chief rabbi of Israel will be Rav Dovid Yosef.
Rav Yosef currently serves as the rabbi of Har Nof in Yerushalayim. A brilliant talmid chochom, Rav Yosef is a member of the Moetzet Chachmei Hatorah of Shas and head of Bais Medrash Yechaveh Da’as.
He follows in the footsteps of his brother, Rav Yitzchok Yosef, who has just finished his term in the same role. Their father, Chacham Ovadiah Yosef, also held the position of Sephardic Chief Rabbi.
On Sunday afternoon, around 140 members of the Chief Rabbi Election Assembly cast their votes in Yerushalayim.

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rav Moshe Rubinstein zt”l, rosh kollel of Kollel Zichron Shneur of Monsey.

With immense sadness, Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rav Avrohom Nesanel Zucker zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Gedolah Ohr Yisroel in Marine Park, Brooklyn.
Rav Zucker petirah leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of his family, talmidim, and the many who were privileged to know him.
Rav Zucker tragically passed away weeks after being involved in a serious accident that left him in a coma. From the time of the accident, Klal Yisroel joined together in heartfelt tefillos for the recovery of Refoel Avrohom Nesanel ben Masha Liba, storming the heavens in the hopes that he would be restored to health. Sadly, over Shabbos, Rav Zucker was niftar.

A major fire broke out this morning at the newly built Skverer Bais Medrash on Jefferson Avenue in Shikun Skver in New York.
The blaze occurred just one day before thousands of Chassidim were set to gather for the official inauguration of the massive building, scheduled to open for the first Selichos of 5784.
Multiple local fire departments responded swiftly to the scene, working together to combat the flames.
By approximately 11:15 a.m., the fire was fully brought under control.
However, it is still unclear how much damage was caused to the structure, which has been eagerly anticipated as a new central bais medrash for the Skverer kehillah.

The following is a recorded message from Hagaon Rav Asher Arielli, senior maggid shiur at Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim, urging participation in the upcoming atzeres tefillah rally to protest the giyus situation in Eretz Yisroel. The event, which has received the approbation of the roshei yeshiva of Beth Medrash Govoha, will take place this Sunday in Lakewood, NJ.

Israeli forces last month dismantled a terrorist squad that had detailed plans to carry out a combined shooting and bombing in the Galil, the country’s security agencies revealed on Thursday.
The cell, which was led by a 23-year-old resident of the Arab town of Arraba in the Galil and also included Palestinians from Yehuda and Shomron, was detained on Aug. 12, according to the Israel Police and Israel Security Agency.
Lead suspect Bassel Abahra planned to attack Jews coming to the Galil to visit the graves of Kivrei Tzadikim, according to the statement.
Police said Abahra enlisted the help of Palestinians who illegally infiltrated into the Jewish state from Yehuda and Shomron to assemble the bombs, and observed Jewish Mispalilim ahead of the planned attack.
