New details have been revealed for the first time about behind-the-scenes maneuverings in 2016 when President Obama was planning to propose a resolution at the UN’s Security Council against Israel, Yisrael Hayom reported on Monday. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu revealed a year and a half ago at a conference that he requested from “a friend, the leader of one of the world powers that has veto rights in the Security Council, whom I have a very good relationship with” to oppose the resolution. That leader, in the words of Netanyahu, “blocked the resolution.” In a recent closed meeting, Netanyahu revealed further details.

ATLANTA — Bodycam footage has been released from the Rayshard Brooks shooting, and the scenario is not what the mainstream media and Black Lives Matter is telling you. The footage shows Brooks passed out in the driver’s seat of his vehicle, at 10:33 p.m. Friday, blocking the Wendy’s drive-thru off University Ave near I-75/85, according to WXIA. Officer Devin Bronsan is seen banging on the window and eventually opening the door to check on the unresponsive Brooks. After awakening him, Bronson tells Brooks to move his car and park legally, but Bronson smelled alcohol from Brooks and decided to investigate further.

Sigal Sadetsky, the head of public health services in the Health Ministry spoke on Sunday about the rise of coronavirus cases in Israel to the members of the Knesset’s Consitution, Law and Justice Committee during a discussion on prisoners’ rights during the coronavirus era. “We’re experiencing the beginning of the second wave now,” Sadetsky said. “We had a long period of calm of over two weeks during which there were less than 20 new virus cases per day. And then [cases] began to rise and rise and now we have already close to 200 patients per day for several days.” “What characterizes the outbreak that we’re experiencing now is that it’s throughout the country. We don’t know exactly how to identify the groups at risk.

Protests and destruction erupted in Atlanta on Saturday night in response to the police-involved shooting death of a 27-year-old man outside a Wendy’s fast-food restaurant. Television images showed the restaurant on fire around 9:30 p.m. ET as rioters filled the parking lot where Brooks was shot by police as he fled after allegedly grabbing a stun gun away from an officer during a struggle. Early Sunday, around 4 a.m. ET, the Wendy’s was seen burning again, Atlanta’s WGCL-TV reported. Smaller fires were also seen in the area Saturday night. Nearby, protesters gathered along University Avenue, with Atlanta police blocking access ramps to Interstate 85, apparently to keep the protesters off the roadway, FOX 5 of Atlanta reported.

Protesters in Paris yelled out anti-Semitic chants and displayed signs reading “Israel, laboratory of police violence” at an anti-racism rally at Place de la République (Republic Square) on Saturday, according to a Jerusalem Post report. The protesters, joining in the worldwide protests against racism and police brutality initiated by US protests over the killing of George Floyd, gathered to protest the death of Adama Traoré in 2016. Traoré, a 24-year-old French black man died in police custody in 2016 and his family members claim that police officers piled on top of him after his arrest while pinning him to the ground, choking him to death. However, there were no videos of the incident and the police officers have not been charged.

Atlanta’s police chief resigned Saturday hours after a black man was fatally shot by officers in a struggle following a field sobriety test. Authorities said the slain man had grabbed an officer’s Taser, but was running away when he was shot. Police Chief Erika Shields stepped down as the killing of 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks sparked a new wave of protests in Atlanta after turbulent demonstrations that followed the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis had simmered down. Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced the police chief’s resignation at a Saturday news conference as roughly 150 people marched outside the Wendy’s restaurant where Brooks was fatally shot late Friday. The mayor also called for the immediate firing of the unidentified officer who opened fire at Brooks.

Overnight camps will not be allowed for the summer of 2020, Cuomo announced Saturday at his Third Avenue office in Manhattan. While children’s day camps have gotten the go-ahead, overnight camps will not be permitted this summer because they have been deemed to be at a higher risk of spreading the virus, said state Health Commissioner Howard Zucker, M.D. Since the beginning of the health crisis, the state has made decisions “based on science and facts,” Dr. Zucker said. “The facts are that this is a congregate setting,” Zucker said. “There are many children together in a bunk, sleeping together. They are eating in the same common area, they are sharing a bathroom, so social distancing is just not possible.

Statement from New York State Health Commissioner Dr. Howard Zucker on Overnight Summer Camps: Throughout this entire public health response, there isn’t a single decision we have not made based on data and science, rather than emotion. Using the best currently available science and data, I have reached a decision to prohibit overnight children’s camps from operating this season in New York State. Unlike day camps, which are approved to open June 29, overnight camps are a difficult setting to manage social distancing and face covering and infection control practices. Overnight camps have congregate settings and sleeping arrangements in close quarters that present too many risks.

A recent report published by Forbes ranking the world’s 100 safest countries during the coronavirus crisis cited Switzerland as the safest country in the world. Israel dropped down from the first place it received in April to number three, the Bahamas was ranked as number 100, and the United States was number 58, behind Romania and two places above Russia. The ranking, carried out by the Deep Knowledge Group of Hong Kong, has changed since its last ranking in April. The first ranking gave high scores to countries who reacted swiftly and efficiently to combat the spread of the coronavirus; the recent study’s rankings gave high scores to countries with resilient economies.
