The New York State Police says it will crack down on reckless driving for one week beginning June 11. The traffic-enforcement initiative is called “Speed Week” and ends on June 17. We urge all motorists to obey posted speed limits and eliminate distractions while behind the wheel.

Army Gen. Mark Milley, the nation’s top military officer, said Thursday he was wrong to have accompanied President Donald Trump on a walk to a church through Lafayette Square, where he was photographed in his combat uniform with the presidential entourage. “My presence in that moment and in that environment created a perception of the military involved in domestic politics,” Milley said. “As a commissioned uniformed officer, it was a mistake that I have learned from, and I sincerely hope we all can learn from it.” The statement by the Joint Chiefs chairman risked the wrath of a president sensitive to anything hinting of criticism of events he has staged.

Veteran Hamodia reporter Reuvain Borchardt has once again received a shocking response from the failing Socialist cop-hating NYC Mayor Bill Deblasio. Question: Good morning, Mr. Mayor, You’ve been discussing equality a lot, and I’d like to ask you about another apparent inequality in the city. During the past week, on multiple occasions, NYPD officers have expelled mothers and children from playgrounds in Brooklyn, while just a few blocks away on the same day, there were protests with hundreds of people. How does it promote equality, Mr.

There’s an alarming spike of new coronavirus cases in Tel Aviv in recent days, with 81 new cases in the past three days, the highest in the country. While some of the cases can be attributed to the new coronavirus hotspot among illegal infiltrators in south Tel Aviv, those cases only account for a little over a third of the new cases. It seems that Tel Avivians have become apathetic to the threat of the coronavirus, with streets, restaurants and beaches full of Israelis living their lives as if the coronavirus doesn’t exist – with no masks or social distancing. Protests with thousands of participants, rooftop parties with gatherings over the permitted numbers and other health ministry violations have become the routine.

A new terminal is posed to open at New York’s LaGuardia Airport, marking the latest step forward in the makeover of a facility once likened to that of “a Third World country” by former Vice President Joe Biden. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Executive Director Rick Cotton attended Wednesday’s ribbon-cutting for the new, 840,000-square-foot Terminal B, slated to open on Saturday. The airport was opened in the late 1930s but had become a cramped, outdated relic by the time Biden said in 2014 that disembarking there was like being “in some Third World country.” The five-year, $8 billion makeover is in its fourth year, and is replacing six concourses, adding 72 gates and improving parking and access roads.

Security video shows more than a dozen people ransacking Macy’s flagship store in Manhattan last week during unrest over the death of George Floyd. The video released by police Tuesday shows two people smashing a glass door with a hammer and baseball bat on the night of June 1 at the Herald Square store. Others are seen prying open a revolving door before entering and grabbing purses and other goods. One man appears to stuff merchandise into a garbage bag. In all, police released security photos of 15 people. They said they made off with about $10,000 worth of merchandise. Macy’s has said the damage to the store can be fairly easily repaired. Retailers in New York City have been given permission to reopen, but only for curbside pickup of merchandise or delivery.

Newly uncovered video appears to show police officers in Louisiana repeatedly punching and tasing a black man they were arresting shortly before he died in police custody. Video on KSLA shows an April 5 altercation between Tommie Dale McGlothen, 44, and four police officers in the northern Louisiana city of Shreveport. McGlothen died the next day at a local hospital, according to the coroner. In the 4 1/2 minute video, which the station shot off of the cellphone of a person who the station said witnessed the altercation, officers can be seen wrestling with a man on the ground, with at least one officer punching him repeatedly and another appearing to hit him with a baton. A voice can be heard saying that the officers were using a Taser on the man.

Health Minister Yuli Edelstein said on Tuesday that Israel’s “increasingly rising spike of new virus cases is alarming” following a tour of the Soroka Medical Center in Be’er Sheva. Edelstein warned that Israel’s rate of infection is progressing to over 200 patients a day and if Israelis continue to treat health guidelines as just a recommendation, the coronavirus will linger. “The most effective way to treat the virus without harming the economy is strict enforcement,” Edelstein said. “There’s no difference between enforcing traffic regulations and enforcing coronavirus regulations. Anyone who walks around without a mask is like someone driving at 160 kilometers per hour. ” “In 2019, 349 people were killed in traffic accidents.
