President Donald Trump wholeheartedly endorsed a potential Israeli military attack targeting Iran’s nuclear installations, according to the controversial new book of his former former national security advisor. In “The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir,” the famously hawkish Bolton wrote that “On Iran, I urged that he press ahead to withdraw from the nuclear agreement and explained why the use of force against Iran’s nuclear program might be the only lasting solution. ‘You tell Bibi [Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu] that if he uses force, I will back him. I told him that, but you tell him again,’ Trump said, unprompted by me.” STAY UPDATED WITH BREAKING UPDATES FROM YWN VIA WHATSAPP – SIGN UP NOW Just click on this link, and you will be placed into a group.

The Bnei Brak municipality announced the closure of several ganim (playgroups) in the city on Motzei Shabbos due to diagnosed coronavirus cases, following on the heels of the closure of a number of ganim last week. “The numbers obligate all of us to do everything we can to flatten the curve – wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and being responsible about the obligation of complete quarantine for those who require it,” the municipality stated. The increasing number of virus cases in Bnei Brak is beginning to be reminiscent of the numbers in the city before Pesach,. A car with a loudspeaker drove around the city on Friday afternoon warning the residents of a potential lockdown if the number of virus cases continues to increase.

Twitter has slapped another label on a tweet by President Donald Trump, this time warning that a video he shared was doctored and escalating the social media company’s crackdown on one of its most widely followed users. After Trump tweeted the video late Thursday, Twitter took the rare step of adding a warning that it was “manipulated media” and linked to a page that said multiple journalists confirmed the clip was edited to make it look like a CNN broadcast. The video remains visible in Trump’s timeline. The doctored clip used footage from a video that went viral last year of two toddlers, one black, one white, which this station used for a story it did on the boys’ friendship.

An inmate scaled a fence and tried to escape from New York City’s Rikers Island jail complex on Thursday but was captured, jail officials said. City Department of Correction spokesperson Peter Thorne said in a statement that a detainee climbed a recreation yard fence at about 12:30 p.m. and ran toward the shoreline. Thorne said the person was promptly apprehended by correction officers. The spokesperson did not confirm reports that two inmates tried to escape from the jail complex and that one was seen swimming toward LaGuardia Airport. Thursday’s incident followed the embarrassing revelation Wednesday that a Rikers inmate spent more than 90 minutes streaming video on Facebook from inside the sprawling lockup.
