Today, Thursday Gimmel Iyar, is the 96th yartzeit of the venerated tzaddik and baal chessed Reb Shaya ben Reb Moshe zt”l of Kerestir. Rav Bentzion Rabinowitz, most known as The Biale Rebbe, wrote a moving letter to the public this week on behalf of a family that has endured the unthinkable. Mrs. Leah Nemirovsky was a young and otherwise healthy woman when she began to experience strange abdominal pains. The pains became worse, until she was completely bedridden. Confused, her four little children sat by her bedside. The family visited several doctors, but were unable to reach a diagnosis. Recently, after years of suffering, a specialist was able to ascertain that Leah has Crohn’s disease.

As Levana Rothner of Jerusalem’s sudden death made headlines two days ago, her family’s terrible secret was finally exposed. Levana’s husband has been in and out of the picture for years and her children were left to fend for themselves, without a father figure and without a mentally stable mother. They grew up in complete dysfunction which can be noted by the terrible photos taken of the house soon after her death.

Chaim and Chana Yakovson had to wait many years before they had children. When they finally did, they never could have dreamed what would happen to their family last week. When Chaim and Chana’s youngest child turned three, the small family moved to Jerusalem where they rented a small apartment on Blau street. They were a close, tight-knit family of four and Chaim brought in stable income. Life was good.
But this past Sunday morning, it all came crashing down.

The community of Sanhedria Murchevet was shocked this past week to discover that Chaim Yehuda Yakovson, husband to Chana and father to two young daughters suddenly died in his sleep. Chaim had taken his daughters Michali (3) and Sari (12) to the park on Sunday afternoon and together the three had returned home in good spirits. He helped Chana put the girls to bed and together, they bid their two only children good night.
That was the last time they saw their father. 
That night, he tragically passed away in his sleep. On Monday morning, Chana woke up to a horrifying sight that will forever be vividly etched into the deepest echoes of her memory; Her beloved husband was no longer among the living.
