The number of Jewish visitors to Har Habayis has surpassed all previous years since the liberation of Yerushalayim in 1967.
As of Sept. 6, 51,672 Jews have visited the holiest place on earth since last Rosh Hashanah (Sept. 16, 2023), according to the Beyadenu—Returning to Har Habayis‎ organization.
It should be noted that all gedolei haposkim have said that it is halachically forbidden to go on to the Har Habayis.
As of the beginning of the month of Elul (Sept. 4), some 48,144 Jews had ascended since last Rosh Hashanah, marking a 14% increase from the 44,317 Jews who visited Har Habayis‎ throughout the entire previous year (5783).

Tens of thousands of Chassidim go to Yerushalayim each year for Rosh Hashanah. This Rosh Hashanah – which is a three-day Yom Tov – many families are once again looking to rent apartments to stay for the Yom Tov and be as close as possible to their Rebbe.
In the Belzer Chassidus, a national committee has been established for renting apartments to those wishing to stay near the Rebbe. The committee is headed by Rav Shamai Kehas Gross, a member of the Badatz of Machzikei Hadas, along with other rabbonim. This committee, together with the Housing Committee led by the Belzer Rebbe, has set reasonable prices for apartments this year, alongside a series of other decisions for Rosh Hashanah.

On Tuesday morning, IDF Col. (Res.) Golan Vach was seriously injured in central Gaza when a tunnel shaft collapsed on him.
Col. Vach was rescued by the IDF and taken to a hospital in Israel in stable condition, and his family has been notified.
Following the 2021 Surfside building collapse, Col. Vach led the Israeli search and rescue unit which famously arrived to help the local authorities. He also led the Israeli team in Turkey following a massive earthquake in 2023, and led the IDF’s search and rescue operations in southern Israel following October 7th.

With only a few weeks left before the elections for the Israeli Chief Rabbinate, the Moetzet Chachmei Hatorah of Shas has made the decision to back the candidacy of Rav Dovid Yosef, a member of the Moetzet Chachmei Hatorah and head of Bais Medrash Yechaveh Da’as, for the position of Rishon LeTzion and Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel.
On Sunday, Rav Dovid visited the residence of the elder member of the Moetzet Chachmei Hatorah, Rav Moshe Maya, who showered him with brachos and stated that if he were part of the electing body, he would undoubtedly vote for Rav Dovid’s candidacy.

Thousands of Israelis traveling to the Kever of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov (1772-1810) in Ukraine ahead of Rosh Hashanah next month will not be permitted to connect through Moldova and will be rerouted via Romania and Poland instead, a trip organizer said on Sunday.
The annual Yamim Noraim journey, which is taking place despite the Russo-Ukrainian War, is being made even more difficult due to a decision by Moldovan authorities last week not to allow Israeli charter flights to land in their country after months of negotiations on the issue.
Tens of thousands of mostly Chassidic Jews from Israel, the US and other countries make the trek to Uman every year ahead of Rosh Hashanah, to spend the start of the new year at Rabbi Nachman’s Kever.

The Satmar Chassidus is planning an anti-Zionist rally in the coming weeks in the tri-state area.
The rally, sources say, is expected to feature the participation of both Satmar communities, the one led in Williamsburg by Rav Zalman Leib Teitelbaum and the one led in Kiryas Yoel led by Rav Aharon Teitelbaum.
Those familiar with the event say that Satmar is making concerted efforts to get members of other Chassidishe groups as well as those in the Litvishe yeshiva community to participate. Efforts have been made to procure Metlife Stadium for the event, but it is not clear that they’ll have enough participants to warrant such a venue or if the venue is available.
