Former President Trump pleaded not guilty at a Miami federal courthouse Tuesday to 37 federal felony counts related to his alleged refusal to hand over classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago residence. Trump made his first appearance in court for the case in Miami on Tuesday and pleaded not guilty. He was indicted last week on the 37 counts by Special Counsel Jack Smith. The FBI seized 102 documents from Trump with classification markings in August. Trump’s aide and co-defendant, Walt Nauta was also arrested, fingerprinted and processed. The criminal charges in the Justice Department’s classified documents case escalates the legal jeopardy surrounding the 2024 GOP front-runner.

During a CNN town hall on Monday night, former New Jersey Governor and current presidential candidate Chris Christie launched a scathing attack on Donald Trump, holding him responsible for the Republican Party’s underperformance in three consecutive elections. While Christie’s own candidacy is viewed as a longshot and his poll numbers remain low, he has distinguished himself by openly criticizing Trump unlike other contenders. Expressing his astonishment, the former governor questioned why some candidates were avoiding any mention of Trump during their campaign trails. “Say his name, man,” Christie exclaimed. “How do you beat someone if you won’t talk about them? How do you defeat them if you won’t differentiate yourself from them?… The only thing he understands is force.

Last week, Education Minister Yoav Kisch (Likud) made a decision that state schools must have mandatory Tanach studies throughout the school year in all grades beginning from second grade. Until now, principals of schools were allowed to choose how to spread the hours over the course of the year so that Tanach could be taught for even only one semester, but now Kisch added Tanach to the core subjects such as math and English which are required to be taught throughout the year. That evening, the topic was discussed on The Patriots talk show on Channel 14 News, Israel’s version of Fox News, hosted by Yinon Magal. The guest on the show that night was Avi Shushan, the spokesperson for Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv.

Renowned Fox News legal analyst Jonathan Turley says former President Donald Trump is facing a life sentence if convicted on even a single count from the extensive list of charges levied against him by the Justice Department last week. Turley’s comments came during his appearance on Fox News, where he discussed the potential consequences of the indictment, which focuses on Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents. The indictment accuses Trump of violating the Espionage Act, with federal prosecutors alleging that his actions jeopardized national security, foreign relations, the safety of the U.S. military, and the integrity of sensitive intelligence collection methods. Speaking about Trump’s age, Turley stated, “The problem is, he’s got to run the table — he’s 76 years old.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy clapped back when a reporter tried to corner him with a question about former President Donald Trump’s illegal retention of classified documents post-presidency. “Was that a good look for the former president to have boxes in a bathroom,” a reporter asked McCarthy, referring to a photo from the indictment of Trump showing boxes of classified material being stored in a Mar-a-Lago bathroom. “I don’t know,” McCarthy shot back. “Is it a good picture to have boxes in a garage that opens up all the time? A bathroom door locks.” McCarthy was of course referring to President Joe Biden’s own documents scandal also being investigated by a special counsel, in which he stored classified documents in a garage at his home in Wilmington, Delaware, and elsewhere.

CNN legal analyst Elie Honig unleashed scathing criticism against the Department of Justice (DOJ) for the extended duration of its investigation into Hunter Biden, which has spanned over five years. Honig’s remarks came in response to Monday’s New York Post cover featuring the headline, “What About the Bidens?” During a segment on CNN This Morning, host Phil Mattingly raised the question of whether the “whataboutism” surrounding the Biden investigation was unique to Washington D.C. or resonated with the broader public. He inquired if it was a “fair analog” to compare different cases. In response, CNN correspondent Sara Murray weighed in, stating, “I don’t think we are talking about an apples-to-apples comparison here.

Former President Donald Trump’s Attorney General, Bill Barr, has voiced grave concerns about the legal troubles facing his former boss. During a compelling analysis on Fox News Sunday, Barr echoed the sentiments expressed by Fox News legal contributor Andy McCarthy, stating that if even half of the allegations outlined in the 37-count federal indictment against Trump were true, he would be in serious trouble. “If even half of it is true, he is toast,” Barr exclaimed, emphasizing the detailed nature of the indictment and the damning evidence contained within. It was a rare moment of criticism from Barr, who had previously been a staunch defender of the former president.

Likud MK Nissim Vaturi on Sunday morning excoriated former prime minister Ehud Barak for his call for a civil rebellion at a protest on Motzei Shabbos. In an interview with Radio Tzafon 104.5FM, Vaturi said: “In other countries, he would be a candidate for hanging. But Israel is a democratic country so he should go to prison for at least 20 years.” Vaturi also posted a photo of Barak entering the home of convicted felon Jeffery Epstein: כשהוא נפגש 30 פעם עם פדופיל במקום בו נפגעו עשרות קטינות הוא חשב שלא רואים לו. עכשיו הוא קורא בראש חוצות למלחמת אחים, להפיכה שלטונית ולאלימות.פסולת אנושית כמוהו צריך להיות מזמן מאחורי סורג ובריח. pic.twitter.com/0SaCyh96KN — ניסים ואטוריNissim Vaturi
