Jeff Bezos blasted into space Tuesday on his rocket company’s first flight with people on board, becoming the second billionaire in just over a week to ride his own spacecraft. The Amazon founder was accompanied by a hand-picked group: his brother, an 18-year-old from the Netherlands and an 82-year-old aviation pioneer from Texas — the youngest and oldest to ever fly in space. “Best day ever,” Bezos said after the capsule touched down on the desert floor at the end of the 10-minute flight. Named after America’s first astronaut, Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket soared from remote West Texas on the 52nd anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, a date chosen by Bezos for its historical significance.

A man bashed an NYPD officer’s head with a glass bottle in an attack that was caught on body camera, authorities said Monday. The officer was standing at the intersection of East 52nd Street and Snyder Avenue in East Flatbush around 4:50 a.m. on Sunday when 27-year-old Tyshaun Holloway approached him, the NYPD said. After a brief conversation, Holloway struck the officer in the head with a bottle, police said. He was arrested and charged with assault not long after, according to police. The officer was taken to a nearby hospital with cuts to his neck and ear, the NYPD said. He was released after receiving stitches and staples, police said. Holloway was charged with assault, menacing, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and criminal possession of a weapon.

Remember that story two weeks ago where that cute little Hasidic child in Boro Park had his electric scooter snatched from him? Well, thanks to the persistent work of the NYPD and the Boro Park Shomrim Safety Patrol, the thieving thug has thankfully been arrested. Arrested is 59-year-old Daniel Ufares of Central Avenue in Brooklyn. He is facing man robbery charges and criminal possession of stolen property. Boro Park Shomrim tells YWN that the incident happened just after 7:00PM on July 7, 2021, when Daniel Ufares allegedly walked up to the 7-year-old boy on 36 Street and 12th Ave, blocked the boys path, and grabbed the scooter. Shomrim worked tirelessly on obtaining security camera footage, and tracing the suspects steps both before and after the robbery.

As the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force continues their investigation into Fridays sickening assault on a Jewish Flatbush man walking to Shul, NY Governor Cuomo says that the New York State Hate Crimes Task Force is joining the investigation. Video footage tweeted by Flatbush Shomrim shows the 41-year-old Orthodox Jewish man walking to Shul when two men approached him from behind and repeatedly punched him in the face with a closed fist, shortly after 5:45 a.m. Friday. The man was not taken to a hospital and refused medical attention at the scene. Police said the suspects took the man’s Tefillin bag and ran. Thankfully, Shomrim recovered the mans Tefillin a few blocks away.

When the gunshots started to echo all around Nationals Park, San Diego Padres star shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. quickly thought about the team’s family members and friends in the seats. Tatis bolted from the bench down the left field line Saturday night, helped open a gate to the stands and began ushering a group back to the dugout to shelter. “Our family, loved ones, little kids. Feel like somebody needed to go get them,” Tatis said Sunday.

This video is an interview between Mr. Shmuel Beller, a Holocaust survivor, and Mr. Heshy Rubenstein of the Yizkor Foundation. Mr. Shmuel Beller was born in Oswiecim, Poland (what would later become the Auschwitz concentration camps) to his parents Tzvi and Chava (Goldstein) Beller. Before the war, he attended the local Talmud Torah until age twelve, when the war broke out. On September 1, 1939, Nazis arrived on motorcycles to Shmuel’s hometown. With the introduction of Nazi presence to Auschwitz, the local Jews’ quality of life immediately dwindled. Within two weeks of the Nazis’ arrival, Jews were evicted from their own stores. Six months later, Jews were kicked out of their own apartments and relegated to basements.

The United Arab Emirates formally inaugurated its embassy in Israel on Wednesday, less than a year after the signing of the Abraham Accords. The embassy is situated in the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) building in the heart of Tel Aviv’s business district, a symbolic location as both Israel and the UAE view the normalization deal as an opportunity to boost their economies. Israeli President Yitzchak Herzog and the Emirati Ambassador to Israel Mohammad Mahmoud Al Khajah spoke at the ceremony, with the latter stating: “This is just the beginning. Both countries are innovative nations and we will harness these new approaches for the prosperity of the countries.” “To see the Emirati flag in the skies of Tel Aviv would have seemed a distant dream. Today it is a reality,” Herzog said.

HaGaon HaRav Gershon Edelstein gave over a chizzuk shiur to his talmidim ahead of Bein Hazemanim, during which he spoke about Leiberman’s “daycare decree” for the first time. “To our sorrow, there are public figures who intend to wreak financial decrees on oskei Ha’Torah,” the Rosh Yeshivah said. “There are those who don’t understand the zechus of Torah, which protects all of Klal Yisrael. They don’t understand this and they want to enact decrees so they can’t learn, so they should go to work.” “However, everything is in the hands of Shamayim. And everything is dependent on zechuyos.
