During a virtual Zoom with Rabbi YY Jacobson, Mr. Eli Beer, the founder of United Hatzolah, shared an intriguing discussion he had with Hagaon Rav Chaim Kanievsky zt”l concerning his moral duty when it comes to administering medical care to a terrorist.
Beer made it clear that amid the ongoing conflicts, his organization has neither offered medical assistance to any terrorists nor transported them to hospitals.

United in Tzaar. United in Tefilla.
Our dear Friends and Partners,
The past week has been a most painful ones for all of Klal Yisroel. Yet, we are כאיש אחד בלב אחד and the feelings of achdus that are apparent during this Eis Tzara are a clear sign of our unbreakable love and care for each other.
Klal Yisroels strongest weapon is the one we always turned to throughout the generations; Tefilla. At this time, as we are United in Tzaar let us Unite through Tefilla.

In comments yesterday at seudah shlishis, Rav Yitzchok Zilberstein, rov of Ramat Elchonon, mentioned that in recent days, he declared that “Bnei Brak is the most protected place in the world” after the Chazon Ish and Rav Chaim Kanievsky stated that “Bnei Brak will not be bombed.”

The Vizhnitzer Rebbe of Bnei Brak, Rav Yisroel Hager, recited a special mi shebeirach on Shabbos at the Vizhnitzer Beis Midrash in Bnei Brak for the Israeli soldiers, the sick, and the hostages, using the tefillah composed by Rav Menachem Mendel Gefner.
The mi shebeirach was written 75 years ago and was recited by the Tchebiner Rov and Rav Isser Zalman Meltzer:

Rabbi Shlomo Gottesman, editor of Yeshurun, went to the residence of Rav Meir Tzvi Bergman, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Rashbi, to discuss the plight of bochurim from abroad who are learning in Eretz Yisroel and whether they should return to their homes in the Diaspora.
First, in response to a question about the bochurim still in the Diaspora, Rav Bergman stated: “It seems that since we do not know what the current situation will bring… the students of the yeshivos who are still abroad should wait a few weeks and not come to Eretz Yisroel until the situation becomes clearer. Certainly, they must establish a strict schedule for themselves, diligently observe their seder of learning, tefillah, and mussar…”

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rav Shmuel Hechster zt”l of Ramat Eshkol, Yerushalayim. He was 103 years old.
Rav Shmuel was born in Germany, a son of Rav Shimon Hechster, and he lived through the harrowing events of the Holocaust.
He immigrated to Eretz Yisroel, established a home, and merited to raise an outstanding family. His son is Rav Reuven Hechster, mashgiach of the Mir Yeshiva in Brachfeld.
Rav Shmuel enjoyed an extraordinarily long and fruitful life, characterized by wisdom and insight.
He was a close friend of the Ponovezh rosh yeshiva, Rav Gershon Edelstein.
The levayah was held last night from the Sanhedria funeral home in Yerushalayim.

Residents of Beitar Illit spent hours making tzitzis for heroic IDF soldiers on the front lines, at the request of organizations supporting the IDF.
The residents made the tzitzis together at the central Beitar Illit shul, Rav Yeshayala’s Koch.

In response to the questions of many during the current eis tzarah, Rav Yaakov Meir Schechter was posed a number of shailos by his close talmid and associate, Rav Yehuda Deutsch.
Rav Yaakov Meir encouraged people not to fear and emphasized that they should “remain in Eretz Yisroel,” which is “a place of ultimate safety.”
Rav Yaakov Meir acknowledged that there are concerns from individuals living abroad who are considering returning and parents overseas whose children are studying in Eretz Yisroel. However, he unequivocally advised them to stay in the country, assuring them that there is no reason to leave.

Jewish blood viciously spilled like water in the Holy Land; precious b’nei Tziyon killed sanctifying Hashem’s Name; interlopers coming into Hashem’s land. We are cloaked in misery because of the pain to our nation.
