The Sanzer Rebbe, on Thursday night, celebrated the engagement of his granddaughter in a small, intimate simcha held at his residence in the city of Netanya. This was a departure from the usual practice, as tenaim celebrations in the Rebbe’s family usually take place in a grand hall, accommodating thousands of Chassidim.
The rebbe explained the reason for this to those close to him: “How can we rejoice when Jewish blood is being shed? Many Jews are in distress and fear, and parents of children await good news from their loved ones.”

The Ribnitzer Rebbe was a tzaddik, a ba’al mofeis (a miracle worker), and so much more. He became a living legend, the address for thousands seeking berachos, first in Russia, then in Eretz Yisrael and, eventually in America. His intense avodah included fasting, non-stop Torah learning, and hours and hours of profound tefillah. Throughout all his trials and tribulations, Reb Chaim Zanvil, the Ribnitzer Rebbe, found a way to serve Hashem.

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rav Mendel Farber zt”l, noted rebbi and mashpiah at Shapell’s/Darche Noam and Midreshet Rachel v’Chaya, and father-in-law of Chevron rosh yeshiva Rav Dovid Cohen.
Rav Farber was raised in Brooklyn N.Y. and attended Yeshiva Toras Chaim of East New York.
When he was thirteen and a half, he was brought to Mesivta Rabbi Chaim Berlin and met the man who would shape his life and was surely the most important influence on Rav Farber and his family: the Rosh Yeshiva, Rav Yitzchok Hutner.  Rav Farber would later call it “the most important day in my life.”

Divrei hisorerus delivered by Rav Uren Reich, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Ohr Zechariah.

The Boyaner Rebbe, Rav Nachum Dov Brayer, recently sent special gifts to IDF soldiers stationed on the front lines of the current war.
As per Yaki Adamker, a correspondent for Walla, these gifts included a siddur and a heartfelt letter intended for the soldiers, along with a box of chocolates for their spouses.
The opening lines of the rebbe‘s letter conveyed a message of solidarity: “To our brethren engaged in the arduous battle, courageously risking their lives in the relentless conflict against those who harbor enmity towards Yisrael and seek our destruction, and to their devoted families supporting them in the quest for salvation.”

Matzav.com – Last night, a sea of thousands gathered at Bell Works in Holmdel, New Jersey, to mark a significant milestone in the world of Torah learning. Men, women, and youngsters came together to celebrate the Daf Yomi Siyum on Seder Nashim, representing the halfway point through Shas.
But this event was more than that. It also held special significance as it marked the 100th Year Anniversary of Daf Yomi, initiated by Rav Meir Shapiro at the Knesiah Gedolah of Agudas Yisroel in 1923.
The siyum at Bell Works also heralded the beginning of Seder Nezikin, as the journey towards the next Siyum Hashas in 2027 continues.

Saying Kaddish for a loved one. It is one of the most well-observed Jewish traditions. However, its cryptic language often makes this sacred and hallowed prayer feel unrelatable. In a powerful and inspiring new book, Rabbi Yechiel Spero changes that, using classic Torah sources, insights, and — of course! — stories to explore the essence and, indeed, the soul of Kaddish. In The Soul of Kaddish, you find chizuk, hope and encouragement in the words of Kaddish. In the following Inside ArtScroll interview, we speak to Rabbi Spero about this incredible book, and about finding chizuk in challenging times – and always.

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of R’ Sheya Mendlowitz z”l, renowned music producer who greatly influenced the tenor and direction of Jewish music for many years. He was just 61 years old and battled illness and various ailments for years.
A pioneer and creative force in the Jewish music industry, Sheya was responsible for producing numerous music albums and events, including those of Mordechai Ben David and Avraham Fried.
Sheya was the musical genius behind the iconic HASC concerts, setting the stage – quite literally – for some of the most memorable musical gatherings of the last half century that spawned the concerts and events that followed in more recent years.
