Jewish blood viciously spilled like water in the Holy Land; precious b’nei Tziyon killed sanctifying Hashem’s Name; interlopers coming into Hashem’s land. We are cloaked in misery because of the pain to our nation.

In a poignant and heartfelt response to the ongoing situation in Eretz Yisroel, the roshei yeshiva of Lakewood’s Beth Medrash Govoha have issued a clarion call to the Adirei Hatorah – the esteemed yungeleit – and the broader community, invoking the power Torah, tefillah and teshuvah as a zechus for acheinu Bnei Yisroel in Eretz Yisrael and those valiantly fighting on the front lines.

Following the tragic events that unfolded on Simchas Torah morning, where hundreds of innocent Israelis lost their lives and thousands were injured due to a multi-pronged attack by Hamas terrorists, Rav Dov Landau, Rosh Yeshivas Slabodka, took decisive action, cancelling all Hakafos Shniyos in yeshivos across Eretz Yisrael.
This decision was made in light of the grave security situation and the need to prioritize the safety of the broader community.
Most shuls also cancelled Hakafos Shniyos.
Additionally, at the Kosel, the rov, Rav Shmuel Rabinovich, called off Hakafos Shniyos. Instead, a somber atzeres tefillah was held for those who have been wounded and for those held captive by Hamas.

Rav Moshe Hillel Hirsch, Rosh Yeshivas Slabodka, in a drasha, addressed whether to cancel the rest of bein hazemanim in light of the war and carnage in Eretz Yisroel.
“The first thing we need to feel is our partnership with them, in tefillah, a lot of tefillah,” he said. “This is an obligation and a personal responsibility for everyone.”
Regarding bein hazemanim, “it is very likely that we will cancel the rest of it… Even if we do not cancel bein hazemanim for some reason, no one is allowed to go on any trips…or even simply walk in the street. It is a chillul Hashem like no other and also endangers lives.”

Two individuals were apprehended by law enforcement in connection with the alleged attempted kidnapping of Rav Yaakov Meir Schechter.
The arrests came about following an incident where one of the suspects was captured on record as he approached Rav Schechter with apparent intentions of abduction.
Following their apprehension, the Yerushalayim Magistrate’s Court opted to release the two suspects, citing a lack of substantial evidence to support the allegation of an attempted kidnapping of Rav Schechter.

A two-year-old boy underwent surgery after he accidentally received an eye injury while playing with a lulav. The incident occurred while the child was playing with his twin brother in a sukkah.
Initially, it seemed that the injury wasn’t severe or long-lasting. However, the following morning, the toddler woke up with a red eye, causing concern for his parents. They promptly reached out to an eye specialist associated with their health insurance provider, who wasted no time in referring them to the Shaare Zedek Medical Center.
The medical team at the center performed surgery to remove a foreign object – ostensibly part of the lulav – lodged in the child’s cornea. After a brief hospital stay, the boy was discharged and sent home.
