This week, Rebbetzin Malka Steinberg Saks a”h passed away.
Rebbetzin Saks was the wife of Rav Moshe Saks, dayan in Yerushalayim, and the founder of the Bnos Rochel School for Girls in Yershalayim and Beit Shemesh, but that might not be why you know her. Or know something about her. Chances are that you are more familiar with the lyrics of a song she wrote. It’s a song that’s such a classic, a song that will stand out in the annals of contemporary Jewish music.
The song is called: The Little Bird is Calling, a parable that depicts Klal Yisroel’s journey through exile and its ultimate redemption.

A group of men and bochurim from the Peleg Yerushalmi gathered in Yerushalayim along Highway 4 earlier today to protest the arrest of a yeshiva student who failed to appear at the IDF recruitment office for his military service deferment.
The demonstration led to the complete blockage of northbound traffic on Highway 4. Additionally, protesters disrupted the operation of the Yerushalayim light rail system and temporarily obstructed the entrance to the city.
In response to the unrest, the police expended efforts to maintain public order and divert motorists towards alternative routes. Clashes between demonstrators and law enforcement erupted within Yerushalayim, with some protesters alleging mistreatment by police officers.

Rosh Yeshivas Rashbi Rav Meir Tzvi Bergman, member of the Moetzes Chachmei Hatorah of Degel Hatorah, has issued a dramatic letter. In this handwritten letter, he addresses recent events within the Degel Hatorah movement.
“Those who claimed that the preservation of Torah and Judaism depends solely on a certain representative…these are matters devoid of substance,” writes Rav Bergman in his impassioned letter.

Mrs. Yenta (Judith) Siegal-Potash a”h passed away early Friday morning. She was approximately 94 years old.
Her first husband was “Yakob der zinger” made famous for his mesiras nefesh by R’ Yom Tov Ehrlich.
Born in Munkacz, Hungary, she witnessed significant historical events during her life. She attended the wedding of the Minchas Elazar’s daughter. She was sent to Auschwitz during World War II and became the sole survivor of her family from the Holocaust.
After the war, she eventually made her way to Paris, where she crossed paths with Yaakov Potash, a yeshiva student originally from Radzimyn, Poland, who had previously studied in Baranovich and Stolin.

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of renowned and beloved singer R’ Oded Dovid (Dedi) Graucher z”l. He was 62.
Dedi dealt with a severe health setback approximately five years ago and underwent a remarkable recovery. Nonetheless, his medical journey had remained delicate since that time, necessitating periodic hospitalizations. He passed away today at Tel Hashomer Medical Center.
Dedi was born on Tu B’Av in tof shein chof alef, a son of R’ Yeshayahu Yechiel Meir Graucher, who passed away when Dedi was young. His mother, Tzipora, passed away when Dedi was 16. The family hails from a Grer mishpacha.
