Amidst the ongoing discussions surrounding the conscription law, National Unity leader MK Benny Gantz undertook a visit to Bnei Brak to visit Yeshivas Rashbi rosh yeshiva Rav Meir Tzvi Bergman, member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of Degel Hatorah.
The meeting took place at Rav Bergman’s residence in Bnei Brak.
At the outset of their dialogue, Rav Bergman conveyed that he represented the sixth generation of his family in Eretz Yisroel, tracing back to a period preceding the presence of Arabs in the region.
In response, Gantz expressed his intention not to seek a compromise on the conscription law, but rather to pursue agreements.

Rav Yaakov Ariel, former rov of Ramat Gan and head of the Hutam organization, expressed his unequivocal backing for the choice to refrain from operating the Tel Aviv light rail on Shabbos.
Rav Ariel articulated, “On Shabbos, there is no school, no work, no commerce… There is no need for a train on Shabbos.”
This sentiment was shared in a joint declaration presented by the Hutam organization, aligning themselves with Minister of Transportation Miri Regev (Likud), who upheld this resolution.

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Mrs. Sara Chana (Wolpin) Fasman a”h.
Mrs. Fasman was the absolute epitome of what it means to live every minute to its fullest. Mrs. Fasman was a morah to hundreds of pre-school children for over 25 years, bringing a fresh smile and a liveliness every day like it was the first day of the school year.
Sadly, Mrs. Fasman quietly suffered with a medical issue that was not curable and outlived what many doctors predicted. She was zoche to 4 beautiful children, as well as a first grandchild.

The massive levayah of the Rachmastrivka Rebbe, Rav Chai Yitzchok Twersky zt”l, seemingly caused disturbance among Chestnut Ridge town leaders.
The town lies on the route between Borough Park neighborhood where the rebbe lived and the Har Shalom Cemetery in Monsey, where the rebbe was interred.
Representing the town, lawyer Alak Shah penned a letter addressed to the cemetery’s management.
In the letter, he stated, “Our Office is Special Counsel to the Village of Chestnut Ridge, New York. We write to advise you of an unacceptable situation in Chestnut Ridge on August 16, 2023, which was the direct result of Har Shalom Cemetery’s failures.

Bechasdei Hashem, two bochurim with special needs have been located after a span of more than 17 hours during which they were missing.
The boys are 22 and 18 years of age, respectively.`
The bochurim became separated from their special needs group on a hike at Sam’s Point/Ice Caves Mountains in Cragsmoor, New York at about 5 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.
The boys were found at about 11:15 this morning, despite dense fog and difficult conditions complicating the search.
Boruch Hashem, the boys – who are part of a group that conducts this hiking excursion annually – were uninjured, unharmed, and overall in good health, despite being exposed to the elements and going without food and drink for many hours.

Immediately after the massive levayah of the Rachmistrivke Rebbe of Boro Park, Rav Chai Yitzchok Isaac Twersky zt”l, it was announced that event rebbes – six sons and one grandson – would take over leadership of the Chassidus.
The grandson is a son of the rebbe’s eldest son, Rav Mordechai Twersky zt”l, who passed away during his father’s lifetime.
This Sahbbos, thousands of Chassidim will gather to attend a tish led by all the new rebbes together.

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of the Rachmastrivka Rebbe, Rav Chai Yitzchok Isaac Twersky zt”l.
The rebbe was a son of Rav Yochanan Twersky of Rachmastrivka and a son-in-law of Rav Yaakov Yosef Twersky of Skver.
Rav Chai Yitzchak, born into a family steeped in Chassidic tradition, embraced a life of pashtus, humility, and devotion. His spiritual journey, marked by his “Yerushalayimer Yid” way of life, reflected a commitment to both mesorah and meaningful engagement with the world.
