The authorities in the Ukrainian city of Uman have called on frum visitors to forego this year’s traditional visit at the kever in the city of Rav Nachman of Breslov for Rosh Hashanah.
Despite the perilous security situation amid the ongoing Russian invasion, hundreds are expected to make the pilgrimage between Sept. 15-17, when Jews around the world celebrate Rosh Hashanah, to Uman, which lies in the south of the country in the Cherkasy region.

For the first time in five years, Rav Boruch Weisbecker, rosh yeshiva of Yehsiva Bais Matisyahu in Bnei Brak and a member of the Moetzes Gedolei Hatorah of Degel Hatorah, has embarked on a chizuk trip to the United States.
The rosh yeshiva departed earlier this week, escorted off by a procession of talmidim and alumni.
Rav Weisbecker plans to visit various communities in New York and New Jersey, imparting words of chizuk and hisorerus ahead of the start of Elul next week.
Rav Weisbecker undertook the trip despite the challenge involved for the sake of Yeshiva Bais Matisyahu, which has recently encountered major financial difficulties.

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rav Yisroel Meir Trachtman zt”l. Rav Yisroel Meir was born in Chicago during the shivah of the Chofetz Chaim approximately ninety years ago and was thus named Yisroel Meir after him.
His father, Rabbi Binyomin Trachtman, was a rov in Chicago.

A yungerman and his wife, residents of Lakewood, NJ, are in need of rachamei Shomayim after being involved in a moped accident in Rome, Italy, where they had traveled during this current bein hazemanim.
The wife’s condition is said be to stable. Unfortunately, the yungerman is in very serious condition and is currently sedated at an Italian hospital.
The wife is said to be in condition to be transferred to the United States. Her husband, however, will have to remain in Italy for the time being until his condition stabilizes, be’ezras Hashem.
All are asked to daven for Refoel ben Rivka Chanah and Devorah Adinah bas Chanah Avigayil.

A couple brought a question to Hagaon Rav Yitzchok Zilberstein, noted posek and rov of Ramat Elchonon. The couple explained that they got married a few years ago and saved up a substantial amount of money every month. They were contemplating using this money to write and donate a Sefer Torah to one of the shul in their neighborhood.
However, upon further consideration, they thought that perhaps it would be appropriate to use this money to pay off the mortgage that the wife’s parents took out to purchase their apartment.

The Slabodka rosh yeshiva, Rav Dov Landau, paid a visit to the Ponovezh rosh yeshiva, Rav Berel Povarsky, where he is staying with his family in the Almah moshav in northern Israel.

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Reb Chaim Ber Meisels z”l of Williamsburg. He was 45.
Reb Chaim Ber was a well-known baal chesed and baal tzedakah, a beloved member of the community in Brooklyn.
Reb Chaim donated substantial sums to tzedakah, both for those in need in Eretz Yisroel and for the needy, yesomim, and alamanos in the United States.
One of his close acquaintances relayed, “He was a person full of simchas hachaim, and he loved all people, regardless of their background or affiliation. Reb Chaim Ber always helped each and every individual.

It is with great shock and sadness that Matzav.com reports the sudden passing of Mrs. Mindel Margulies a”h.
She suffered a heart attack, was taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, and passed away.
Mrs. Margulies was the wife of Rav Menachem Mendel Margulies zt”lrosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Gedolah Torah Temimah.
Mrs. Margulies had gotten remarried several weeks ago to Rav Leib Weiss, rov of the Sefard minyan at A Country Place in Lakewood, NJ.
Mrs. Margulies was a longtime principal at Satmar Girls School in Boro Park, a beloved mechaneches who touched so many teachers and students over her wonderful career in chinuch.
