Authorities are investigating whether an attack on diners that occurred outside a Beverly Grove restaurant late Tuesday night was a Jewish hate crime. The brawl occurred a little before 10 p.m. outside Sushi Fumi in the 300 block of North La Cienega Boulevard. Witnesses said a mob of pro-Palestinians attacked a group of Jewish men who were dining at the restaurant. Cell phone video showed a group of men get out of the car and start to attack them while yelling racial slurs. One of the diners, who is not Jewish, told CBSLA a caravan waving pro-Palestinian flags approached and then began throwing bottles at him and the group he was dining with. The man said he is a photographer and the group was meeting at the restaurant to plan a wedding.

Andrew Giuliani, the son of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, announced Tuesday he is seeking the Republican nomination for governor of New York, potentially setting up a battle with third-term incumbent Democrat Andrew Cuomo. “Giuliani vs. Cuomo. Holy smokes. It’s Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier,” the 35-year-old said in an interview with the New York Post. He also posted a video on Twitter that assailed Cuomo for, among other things, barring gatherings and closing businesses and schools as the coronavirus began killing thousands of New Yorkers last March. “At the first sign of a problem, they chose to shut us down. They take away our freedoms. They quarantine healthy people,” Giuliani said.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, this evening (Saturday, 15 May 2021): “It has been five days since Hamas brazenly fired rockets at Jerusalem and other Israeli cities in a totally unprovoked attack. This past week, millions of Israelis were forced into bomb shelters as missiles rained down on our cities. Several Israelis have been killed. Many more have been wounded. You know and I know, no country would tolerate this. Israel will not tolerate this. Israel has responded forcefully to these attacks and we will continue to respond forcefully until the security of our people is reinstated and restored. We’ve eliminated dozens of Hamas terrorists and taken out hundreds of terrorist sites, including missile launchers and buildings that Hamas used to plan and perpetrate these attacks.

Almost 200 Turks protested outside a shul in Gelsenkirchen in western Germany this week and chanted anti-Semitic slogans rife with expletives. Police only stopped the protests after two hours, although expressing anti-Semitic statements in public are a criminal offense in Germany. Germany’s leading Jewish group on Thursday sharply condemned the protests as “pure antisemitism.” „kindermörderisrael“ dürfte natürlich auch nicht fehlen

“Citizens of Israel, we are dealing with a campaign on two fronts. The first front – Gaza. I said that we would exact a very heavy price from Hamas and the other terrorist organizations. We are doing so and we will continue to do so with great force. The last word has not been said and this operation will continue as long as necessary in order to restore the quiet and security to the State of Israel. The second front – Israel’s cities. I repeat what I said earlier today: We give 100% backing to the police, to the soldiers of the Border Police and to the other security forces in order to restore law and order to Israel’s cities. We will not tolerate anarchy. We back the police in using all means with full powers, including in conjunction with the IDF and the ISA.

The myth that Israel even needs other nations to defend “its right to protect itself” is an enduring one, a recurring theme every time Hamas and other terror groups launch rockets into Israeli cities and Israel retaliates by striking the Gaza Strip. Israel is seemingly the only country in the world that has to defend its right to prevents its own citizens from being killed and injured. And even if that right is”granted,” the Jewish state must be condemned for a “disproportionate response” on poor innocent Palestinian civilians, the very ones that birthed and educated the terrorists within their midst.
