Former Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, a former U.S. Attorney and Trump ally turned on the President on Sunday and said he believed the President’s actions before supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol last week amounted to an “impeachable offense.” Christie told ABC that Republicans in Congress would have to “vote their conscience” if an impeachment article is brought forward and “look at what happened.” “What we had was an incitement to riot at the United States Capitol. We have people killed, and to me there’s not a whole lot of question here,” said Christie. “I think if inciting to insurrection isn’t [an impeachable offense], I don’t really know what it is,” he said.

WhatsApp, the Facebook-owned messenger that claims to have privacy coded into its DNA, is giving its 2 billion plus users an ultimatum: agree to share their personal data with the social network or delete their accounts. The requirement is being delivered through an in-app alert directing users to agree to sweeping changes in the WhatsApp terms of service. Those who don’t accept the revamped privacy policy by February 8 will no longer be able to use the app. People who object to the new terms and policy should consider using a different messenger. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu‏‏ announced on Thursday that the majority of Israelis should be vaccinated by March due to a new deal with Pfizer that will see millions of vaccines arriving in Israel beginning on Sunday. Last week, Health Minister Yuli Edelstein said that Israel’s vaccination campaign will have to be paused for a short period this month until new vaccine shipments arrive in March and later in the week, two of Israel’s Kupot Cholim announced that they are not making any new appointments for the administration of first vaccine dosages until they can replenish their supplies.

In his first public statement since Wednesday, President Trump signaled that he is ready to accept President-elect Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 presidential election. “Now Congress has certified the results. A new administration will be inaugurated on Jan. 20th. My focus now turns to ensuring a smooth, orderly and seamless transition of power. This moment calls for healing and reconciliation.” Trump said he was “outraged” by individuals who participated in the violence at the US Capitol. He noted that those who broke the law “will pay.” “America is and must always be a nation of law and order,” Trump said. “The demonstrators who infiltrated the Capitol have defiled the seat of American democracy.

President Donald Trump for the first time acknowledged his defeat in the Nov. 3 election and announced there would be an “orderly transition” on Jan. 20, Inauguration Day, after Congress concluded the electoral vote count early Thursday certifying President-elect Joe Biden’s victory. Trump’s acknowledgment came after a day of chaos and destruction on Capitol Hill as a mob of his supporters stormed the Capitol and unleashed unprecedented scenes of mayhem in hopes of halting the peaceful transition of power. Members of Congress were forced into hiding, offices were ransacked, and the formal congressional tally of Electoral College votes was halted for more than six hours.

While marching on Pennsylvania Avenue on Wednesday, a Hasidic man from Monsey spoke to the media. While draped in numerous Trump flags, the man told the cameras: “Make sure to fight. Because if we’re not gonna fight, It’s over”. When asked about Trump’s speech delivered just before the violence started, he said “I heard him saying that we’re gonna fight back. We’re gonna take it back.” His message to all Lawmakers: “They should all go home and resign. And leave us alone. We pay their taxes. We pay their salaries. And they don’t give us nothing. Go home! We have alot of people, young men and women that are ready to work for the country.” “And me being from a minority group, I feel it for the last year. We have to wake up. If we don’t wake up today, you’re not gonna have a chance.

“I share your disgust & embarrassment & determination to make sure that what happened in our Capitol never happens again – but you need to speak up when this happens in other places. Lawlessness in one place breeds lawlessness everywhere.” Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, one of President Donald Trump’s top congressional allies, says the president must accept his own role in the violence that occurred at the U.S. Capitol. The South Carolina senator said Thursday that Trump “needs to understand that his actions were the problem, not the solution.” Graham was a foe of Trump’s during the 2016 campaign and questioned his mental fitness for office. Once Trump was in office, however, Graham became one of his closest confidants and often played golf with him.

President-elect Joe Biden said his granddaughter pointed out the unfair difference in images that showed the violence wielded against Black Lives Matter protesters versus the seemingly muted response against those who attacked the U.S. government. “No one can tell me that if that had been a group of Black Lives Matter protesting yesterday, they wouldn’t have been treated very, very differently than the mob of thugs that stormed the Capitol,” Biden said in remarks to the nation Thursday. He continued: “We all know that is true, and it is unacceptable.
