At an atzeres hesped l’illui nishmas Maran Rav Gershon Edelstein zt”l held at the main shul of Ramat Elchanan, there were several speakers, including Rav Yitzchak Zilberstein, rov of Ramat Elchanan, as well as Rav Yehuda Silman, Rav Ma’asoud ben Shimon, Rav Chaim Mordechai Ausband and Rav Yehoshua Edelstein.
“The rosh yeshiva was a giant among giants,” said Rav Zilberstein. “His character traits were remarkable, and his dedication to and love for Torah were boundless. Outstanding qualities that distinguished him were his truthfulness and humility. He lived by these values, and truth was his guiding principle.”

The Slabodka rosh yeshiva, Rav Moshe Hillel Hirsch, who rarely attends simchos of admorim, arrived for the first time at the wedding of the Belzer Rebbe’s grandson held last night at the Arnona Hall in Yerushalayim.
The rosh yeshiva arrived immediately after delivering a hesped at Chevron Yeshiva in Givat Mordechai, marking the end of shivah for the Ponovezh rosh yeshiva, Rav Gershon Edelstein zt”l.
In Belzer circles, they speak of a warm and personal connection that has developed between the rebbe and the rosh yeshiva over the past year, and now it was expressed publicly for the first time.

The wedding of a grandson of the Belzer Rebbe was held last night in Yerushalayim.
The chosson is a son of the rebbe’s son, Rav Aharon Mordechai Rokeach, who is a son-in-law of the Makova Rebbe.
The kallah is a daughter of Rav Aharon Brief, a rov in the Belzer kehillah in Ashdod. The chosson’s grandfather is Rav Chaim Dovid Shuvacks, a senior dayan on the Belzer Machzikei Hadaas Bais Din.

Thousands joined the joyous celebration last night of the marriage of a granddaughter of the Gerer Rebbe, a daughter of his son-in-law, Rav Chaim Yehoshua Schorr, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Chiddushei Harim in Bnei Brak.
The chosson, Yisrael Bergman, is a son of Rav Menashe Bergman of Tel Aviv.
The chasunah took place at the main Gerer bais medrash in Yerushalayim.
The Tena’im took place at the home of the rebbe.
During the chupah, the crowds stood on Yirmiyahu Street, with men facing Tzefania and women facing Breindis. The thoroughfare itself was closed to traffic.

Rav Dov Landau, rosh yeshivas Slabodka in Bnei Brak, who flew from Eretz Yisroel on Motzoei Shabbos to spend a week in America, will deliver a shiur tomorrow at Bais Medrash Govoah in Lakewood, NJ.
The shiur follows the Adirei HaTorah event on Sunday, which Rav Landau attended but did not address.
Rav Landau has thus far visited Monsey, Brooklyn and Far Rockaway, making stops at Yeshiva of Spring Valley, Yeshivas Novominsk, Yeshiva Darchei Torah and elsewhere.
Tomorrow’s shiur at Bais Medrash Govoah will take place in the yeshiva dining room at 6:15 p.m.

Currently, at the Ponevezh Yeshiva, they are learning Maseches Sanhedrin during this zeman, the last masechta on which the late Rosh Yeshiva, Maran Rav Gershon Edelstein zt”l, gave shiur.
Regarding this masechta there is a remarkable story testifying to the depth of knowledge of Rav Gershon, as related by Rav Uziel Leibowitz, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Birkas Shmuel in Bnei Brak.
